Dear Colleague:

The 2002 Annual Conference of the New York State Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges will be held April 12-14 at the Holiday Inn Arena in Binghamton, NY. As NYSMATYC celebrates its 35th year of service to two year mathematics faculty, the conference theme: “The Future is Now- Accepting the Challenges of the New Millenium” seems quite appropriate, especially since our founding President, Herb Gross, will be our keynote speaker.

The conference program includes a wide variety of presentations on such topics as distance learning, courses developed and/ or enhanced with technology, assessment, student learning, pedagogy, professional enrichment, M.C. Escher, mathematical trivia, and of course our famous Saturday morning estimation run. We will also be honoring our student scholarship and math league competition winners.

Come share your experiences and ideas, renew old acquaintances, make new friends, become involved in the only organization in NY that focuses solely on teaching mathematics at the two year college level.

Hotel and conference registration forms may be found on-line at:

I look forward to seeing you in Binghamton!
