2013 NYSMATYC Annual Conference
“Everything You Can Imagine Is Real”

The 46th Annual NYSMATYC Conference was a success!
Many thanks to all attendees, presenters, volunteers, keynote speakers, Queensbury Hotel staff, colleges and vendors who supported this event and NYSMATYC.
Some highlights of the conference were:
- Our first NYSMATYC IGNITE on Friday night; it was fun, informative, and entertaining
- Our first CRAFT NIGHT on Saturday; it was relaxing and mathematically enhanced
- Our second GAME NIGHT on Saturday; it was exciting and energizing
- Three keynote speakers:
- Friday night: Dr. Maria Franco, “Reimagining the Learning: Making Mathematics Real”
- Saturday afternoon: Jim Matthews, “Trains, Rice, and Lockers: Imagine the Mathematical Connection”
- Saturday night: Dr. Steve Kahn, “Believing in the Greatness of Students – and Conquering Algebra”
- Scholarship winners at the Friday night dinner
- An AMATYC Presentation on Friday night
- The Annual NYSMATYC Business Meeting with more than 90 people in attendance
- A Cocktail Hour on Saturday night
- 37 outstanding presentations from our colleagues
- A Roundtable discussion on transfer issues
- The following vendors with their representatives: Cengage Learning, Hawkes Learning, Learning Express, Maplesoft, Pearson, Smarthinking, Texas Instruments.
